Hello everyone; none of you people know me, but that's okay. Rumo(u)rs about the elusive return date of BBC's 'Sherlock' have been everywhere, ranging from the beginning of January 2013 to the Autumn (I refuse to say "Fall") of the year after. Fanfictions place the Return anywhere between a week and the original three years after Sherlock's final confrontation with Moriarty, so who do we trust in these troubled times? No one, because most fanfiction writers are almost disgustingly optimistic, Moffat and Gatiss are trolls, you should never believe a single word of anything on tumblr/twitter/facebook/etc., and the hardworking men and women in the BBC aren't stupid; three whole years without an episode would decimate anything from show ratings to budget to viewer support- entertainment suicide.

I know that we folks in the United States get a bit more impatient with our TV season gaps than our friends across the pond who are used to much shorter series, but here's some news that's apparently been floating around for a while that I only just managed to track down that no one else seems to have known about either:

:bulletblue: Seasons 2 and 3 of 'Sherlock were commissioned at the same time.
:bulletblue: Hypothetically, according to this site screenrant.com/sherlock-season… , 'Sherlock' ought to return sometime in the Summer of 2013.
:bulletblue: Andrew Scott (Moriarty) only refers to his experiences with the show in past-tense; whether it means he's actually done with it, or we're once again being played by Mofftiss and Co. is unclear.

Go spread the joy, but don't take it completely to heart just yet, boys and girls. Until it airs, everything we hear is a lie.

It's actually been announced that series 3 doesn't start production until March 2013 due to other projects Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are involved in. NOT happy.
